Notes from our Fabrication Team:
- Quartzite is not as difficult to work with as porcelain, but requires specialized diamond-tipped tools and more controlled cutting techniques since it is less forgiving than softer stones.
- However, we can achieve any countertop edge detail on quartzite countertops.
- All natural stones are porous and require sealing for protection. Our installation team will apply sealant to natural stone during installation. Refer to the Stone Care page for more information.
- Natural stone slabs come with fiber glass mesh backing to protect and support the stone; which can have natural fissures in the material that will break if the fiber glass mesh needs to be removed.
- Chips or minimal damage to quartzite countertops can be repaired.
- Quartzite is a natural stone that will require the owners/designer to hand select individual slabs/bundles since there can be variation from slab to slab.
